  Contraception

What’s right for you?

“What should I expect?”
“What kinds of questions should I ask?”
“Should I use the pill? An injectable? A condom?”
“What’s the rhythm method and how effective is it?”

There are lots of questions when it comes to contraception.

Birth control choices come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and formulas:

  • The Pill
  • Barrier Methods
  • Spermicides
  • Fertility Awareness
  • Implants, injectables
  • Withdrawal and abstinence
  • IMPLANON

When you’re looking for a reliable method of birth control you’ll need to be open about your questions and concerns. We’ll discuss which one’s right for you –  based on your history, your present health, your age, and what you’re ultimately most comfortable with.

Before starting any kind of contraception you’ll want to come in for a regular check up with Dr. Chick.

Your exam would include talking about your history and present health, having a breast exam, a pelvic exam, urine and blood tests, a blood pressure check, and a measurement of your height and weight.

Dr. Chick will talk with you about your sexual history and present activity as well as whether you’re looking for a short-term or long-term contraceptive method.

He’ll talk with you about protection against STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) and the now widely talked about HPV.

Regardless of the choice you and Dr. Chick together decide is the best option for you,
know with great certainty that Dr. Chick will take all the time it requires to ensure

You know all your options – and feel good about the choice you make for your body.
